English Language Requirements
Language Proficiency – Professional Certificate in English – Intermediate awarded by FTMSGlobal Academy or equivalent, or IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL (paper-based) > 500 or TOEFL (computer-based) > 173 or any other equivalent qualification.

Introduction to the Certificate
The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is designed to give the student a solid grounding in the fundamentals of accounting, business and finance. While it is a recognised qualification in its own right and valued by employers, it is also CIMA’s entry qualification into the CIMA Professional Qualification. It offers you the opportunity to build and develop your business and financial knowledge, both enhancing your CV and helping you to shape your career.

Entry Requirements
Open to All
Entry into the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is open to all, regardless of your financial knowledge. All you require is a passion to succeed in business and be competent in mathematics and the English language.
English Language Requirements
Students are expected to provide evidence of a level of English ability at least equivalent to 6.5 of the International English Language Testing Standards (IELTS) achieved within past 24 months or a pass in FTMSGlobal English Programme at Intermediate Level 2 stage.
Graduation and Progression
Upon graduation students can progress to Professional Chartered Management Accounting Qualification awarded by CIMA U.K.

Course Module Synopses
Fundamentals of Management Accounting paper introduces candidates to core management accounting topics such as cost determination, breakeven analysis, standard costing, cost and accounting systems and financial planning and control.
C02 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
Fundamentals of Financial Accounting paper takes candidates through conceptual and regulatory frameworks, accounting systems and control, and preparing accounts for single entities.
C03: Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
Fundamentals of Business Mathematics introduces students to basic mathematics, probability, summarising and analysing data, variables, forecasting, financial mathematics and spreadsheets.
C04: Fundamentals of Business Economics
Fundamentals of Business Economics covers the goals and decisions of organisations, the market system and the competitive process, the financial system and the macroeconomic context of business.
C05 Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law
Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law covers ethics and business, ethical conflict, corporate governance, comparison of English law with alternative legal systems, the law of contract, the law of employment and company administration and finance.
Computer Based Assessment (CBA)
All five assessments for the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting are exclusively taken using computer based
assessment and use objective test questions.
Each assessment runs for two hours and the pass mark is 50%.

Assessment Methods
Written examination papers of three hours, plus 20 minutes of pre-examination question paper reading time. There are two exam sittings each year, in May and November. There are also two computer based sittings for the test of professional competence each year, in March and September.

TOPCIMA Assessment
The Test of Professional Competence in Management Accounting comprises two (2) components that must be achieved in order to complete the Test. Students must achieve an aggregate minimum of 75 credits – comprising a minimum of 50 credits for part A (maximum is 50 credits) and a minimum of 25 credits for Part B (maximum of 50 credits). Students are advised to undertake Part A and Part B concurrently, although either can be taken in any order once all Strategic Level examinations have been successfully completed.
