Introduction

This degree aims to provide students with a high level of technical ability, knowledge and conceptual understanding in the field of Accounting and Finance. The Degree also provides a ange of contexts and enable students to appreciate the importance of political, ethical, legal and social environment, accounting profession, business entity, capital markets and the public sector, and covers current technical language and practices of accounting, including alternative rules and approaches applicable to specific circumstances. The Degree course covers the areas of accounting, auditing, economics, finance, IT and business.

Students will develop a wide range of intellectual and analytical abilities relevant to business and management including the ability to think critically and independently.

Students will gain a range of opportunities to develop the attitudes, skills and abilities necessary to work in an international business environment and to develop an awareness and appreciation of different ethical values

Students will also develop the transferable skills necessary for students' personal development as life-long independent learners and for their ability to respond positively to change during their careers in business and management.

Students may apply for exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants on successfully completing the course.

Duration

Study period of 1 - 4 years (depending on entry route and whether studied in Full Time / Part Time mode)

1	Option 1	Advanced Standing Entry into Anglia Ruskin Unversity (ARU) final year dgree offered at FTMSGlobal Academy. udents who have successfully completed the Higher Diploma in Accounting and Finance awarded by FTMSGlobal Academy or equivalent, would have advanced standing into the final stage of the ARU degree programmes.
2	Option 2	Entry Route into the 3-years ARU Degree programme offered at FTMSGlobal Academy Minimum age: 17 years old; GCE 'A' Levels minimum 2 passes and 3 futher subjects at GCSE or GCE 'O' Level; OR Foundation in Business Studies course awarded by FTMSGlobal Academy or equivalent

English Requirements

Students are expected to provide evidence of a level of English ability at least equivalent to 6.5 of the International English Language Testing Standards (IELTS) achieved within past 24 months or a pass in FTMSGlobal English Programme at Intermediate Level 2 stage.

Assessment

Assessment is via a mix of examination, coursework and essays, plus other oral and activity-based assignments. Coursework includes problem solving activities, consultancy projects, presentations and individual and group reports.

Delivery Method

Classroom face-to-face lectures and tutorials.

Exemptions

Students with relevant Diploma or equivalent qualifications will be exempt from academic year 1 and year 2 and part of academic year 3 depending on their qualifications and subject to approval from the examination board.

Award

Upon successful completion, students will be awarded the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance by Anglia Ruskin University.

Bridging Modules

Need to do 4 bridging modules from Year 2 of ARU Programme, after they complete our Diploma and Higher diploma before they can proceed to ARU Final Year (3) degree

Associated Careers

A degree in Accounting and Finance traditionally forms the basis for a career as a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Certified Accountant, Chartered Public Finance Accountant or a Chartered Management Accountant. However, this course would also provide an excellent foundation for entry into the fields of commerce, business management or banking and finance. The range of course options allows students to focus on areas of particular interest.
