Introduction
The Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management aims to provide an understanding of managerial decision making and leadership aspects of the international hotel industry. In addition, it is also designed to develop independent research and study skills which will be required when working at senior managerial level in the industry.
Learning Outcomes
Students can achieve the guided learning hours in combination of face to face classroom interactions, attending seminars, visits to hotels, self study and group study as well as research work. If students are based at a study centre, they will be required to attend a certain number of lecture hours to support their studies and will receive guidance to complete the learning hours.

- 12 months theory (Part-time)
Entry Requirements
- Successful completion or exemption from Diploma in Hotel Management awarded by CTH U.K. or equivalent qualifications
English Requirements
Students are expected to provide evidence of a level of English proficiency at least equivalent to 6.5 of the International English Language Testing Standards (IELTS) achieved within past 24 months or a pass in FTMSGlobal English Programme at Intermediate Level 2 stage or equivalent.
Delivery Method
Classroom face to face lectures and tutorials.
Assessment Methods
Five of the six modules are assessed by an assignment and a three hour examination. The sixth module is assessed through a 5000 word Management Research Report. All assessments are marked by CTH.

Progression
Upon graduation, students can apply for Internships to get practical experience or pursue a degree programme.

Exemptions
Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH), U.K. is the body that grants exemptions on a case by case basis.
Membership
All students on Diploma programme are eligible for Affiliate Membership of the Institute of Hospitality, and therefore, they stand a better chance to get employment opportunities.

Course Module Synopses
Food and Beverage Management
A broad understanding of the variety of food and beverage operations in the industry and the skills required to manage them effectively.
Facilities Management
This module covers the operational aspects of this topic and the skills and understanding required to manage an environmentally friendly operation effectively.
Management Accounting
Students will gain an understanding of the financial and accounting records used in the hospitality industry and the ways these can aid effective management decision making.
Strategic Management
This provides an understanding of the strategic process applied in the hospitality industry, including an internal and external analysis and selecting and implementing future strategic options.
Human Resource Management
This module introduces the students to a wide range of theoretical perspectives on how to manage the human resource, supported by extensive benchmarking against "real-world" standards.
Management Research Report
Students carry out a research report that involves analysing and interpreting data and making recommendations for the future. This is to develop independent research and study skills that will be required when working in the industry.
Career Opportunities
All students on Diploma programme are eligible for Affiliate Membership of the Institute of Hospitality therefore, they stand a better chance to get employment opportunities.
Internship (optional)*
Students have to demonstrate their 21st century skills and attributes, and are fully responsible for the successful completion of the course, for their success at the interview session and securing the internship. Students can secure internship in or outside Singapore. They should work 6 months at established hotels or restaurants to gain valuable real-world experience that will be paramount to them becoming the next-generation of the hotel industry’s elite.The student is responsible for the application for internship. FTMSGlobal Academy will assist the students in preparing for the internship through mock interviews and arrange grooming and interview sessions for individuals.
